Firstly: sorry about the quiet recording. It won't happen again.

In this happy-go-lucky episode of the View from the Quad podcast i talk about how you can get yourself a free VFTQ shirt... But only if you either feel darn lucky or buy a shirt. Its like one of those Public Good games which I learnt about during Game Theory in DCU!(http://tinyurl.com/24gs9y )
I talk about my copy of Ancestor which arrived in a lovely big brown box yesterday.
And then some vague nattering.

Lets look a bit closer at the rules for the T-shirt competition.
Once I sell 10 t-shirts which are not the black long sleeved girls shirt, (The cheerleader shirt is included in this competition) I will announce through the mailing list, and later in the week, through the podcast, that the competition is on. You will then email me through an email address which I will tell you closer to the time with your full name and address and choice of shirt (which must not cost more then €20.40) and I will pull a name out of a hat.
If you have previously bought a shirt, let me know, and send a picture of you wearing it. You will get entered into the hat twice.
If you let me post the picture of you wearing the shirt on the interwebs, you will get entered three times into that hat, giving you a huge advantage in this game.
The easiest way to win a free shirt, therefore, is buy a shirt which is not the black long sleeved women's shirt. If you have bought this shirt, you can still get entered three times by sending a picture and letting me post it, you will just not contribute to the 10 shirts sold.

You can buy a shirt by going to www.viewfromthequad.com and clicking the 'shirts' button on the left hand side.

In order to hear when I sell the first 10, sign up to the mailing list at http://www.viewfromthequad.com . This will let you enter early, and I will announce the winner though that method first. I will then announce it on the podcast, and if you don't respond within 4 days, somebody else gets the shirt. So it would make sense to sign up.

The promo you heard today is somehow involved with http://joemurphymemorialfund.org/

Thanks for listening!
You can contact me at Talktome@stuffslashersaw.com or by leaving a comment on the blog or forums over at http://www.viewfromthequad.com .
See you lot next time!

We talk about lots of things, including how NOT to publicize your book, fancy Mac setups and the thing which is tearing podcasting apart..... 'You have WHAT in your setup? THAT SUCKS!'

Thanks for listening, and please stay subscribed! Santa will love you.

In this short episode of the View from the Quad podcast, I talk (for a short amount of time, of course) about Ancestor, the Scott Sigler book which just went to print, Next weeks interview (Tee Morris), and how to podcast in a loud enviroment. Hurrah! Short shownotes this week, as I don't really have the time to expand on them. DAMN THOSE RELIGIOUS SERVICES!

In this episode of the View from the Quad, I interview the genius behind 7th Son, J.C Hutchins. We talk about where the idea for his book came from, his rig (what he uses to record and edit) and J.C wanting to be put in old man makeup, and acting as an old man. Also on the cards is the First movie which he saw which made him want to write this sort of stuff, (original Star Wars, not the new one *shiver*) exploding listnership and exploding lorries. But that is not all! (In fact, that is just the first 20 min or so!) Listen to find out exactly how our (mindbending for me) conversation went! My fave qoute which makes me look like an idiot: "When I was trying to contact you cause things went a bit south, I managed to find your address and phone number. Has anybody ever contacted you about that?" "No." "Ah... Ehmm..." The Next interview will be a really really long interview with Tee Morris, and after that, Mur Lafferty. Please go to www.vftq.info if you have a question for her. Please go to any of my websites and fill in the survey. This really helps me. Visit the websites at www.stuffslashersaw.com and www.viewfromthequad.com (You can also comment there, as well as leave questions for the next interviews) Email me at talktome@stuffslashersaw.com Thanks for listining, and please please stay subscribed!

- In this episode 46 of the View from the quad, I start, as is usual on this cast, with a song. The song in question is called Sound Scientist by bill.
http://music.podshow.com/music/listeners/artistdetails.php?BandHash=148cefe228e814695760e94419a9a1f8 .

Today, my main topic of conversation is Podcasting on a higher budget then my last podcasting tutorial, and here is the link to that lovely microphone I was talking about. If anybody wants to buy it for me, and then ship it over to Ireland, I will happily advertise their business for two episodes on my podcast.
http://www.junglecrazy.com/view/5065 . And just to fix something up, it costs $59.99.

I also rabbit on about why you should not buy the Apple TV, and if you are going to, why you should wait a few months.
Also on the list of things to talk about, a new book I bought called 101 things to do before you die and the Interview with J.C Hutchins
www.jchutchins.net next episode and the interview with Tee Morris
www.teemorris.com on episode 49. If you want to submit questions for Tee, please go here
www.vftq.info and leave a comment on the 'Question time' post.
Also, do not forget to fill in the survey at
http://www.podtrac.com/audience/start-survey.aspx?ver=2&pid=OBfjk4EdXf4$ . I will be really happyfull if you do.

Thanks for listening! You can comment on this, and the last few shows, over at www.viewfromthequad.com. You can contact me at talktome@stuffslasher, although I may not answer for a while, as I am having spam problems. Big ones.

Episode45-Scott Sigler interview - in this episode of the View From The Quad, I talk to world expert podiobooker, Scott Sigler scottsigler.podshow.com
We talk about many things, including the first movie which made him hide behind his dad, teachers holding you back from writing what you want to and his technology set-up over there in sunny San Francisco. I have started to complete my (currant) goal in podcasting, to interview some of the best authors and most interesting people in podcasting, and beyond. (Notice the open-ended 'Beyond')

We also talk about his next print novel, Ancestor, http://tinyurl.com/3du3lz (Make sure to buy it on April the First, and to bundle it with his other book, Earthcore to get the best deal)
If you want to enter the big competition for PROMOTIONAL POSTCARDS SIGNED BY SCOTT SIGLER, (Yes, it is important enough to warrant all caps) then you need to head on down to www.viewfromthequad.com and press the button to the left which says "Win signed Sigler stuff" and click it. You shall then be given instructions on what to do next.
The question is "Name all four of Scott Sigler's podcast novels". (The answer is in the interview.)
Thanks for listening, and tune in next week where I do my normal rant on Sci Fi, technology and so forth. The week after next, I will be talking to JC Hutchins on his books, The 7th son trilogy.

Remember to fill in the listener survey form, available at the website, or by clicking on this link. http://tinyurl.com/23e8q3 . Thanks!

Remember to go to the switchpod page and vote me 5 stars! I owe it all to you for where I am, but I think that I can do better, with your help.

VFTQ episode 44 - This week we play Naked under Leather by Rubber Band Banjo, to be gotten at the podcast music network. http://tinyurl.com/2sxe39

Today on the show, I talk about three big things which will be happening in the next few weeks; an Interview with a very well know podiobook novel author, some promotional gear signed by said author up for grabs and what happens when you hang money in front of a podcaster. No, I did not sell out, Selling out is when you are payed to do something which you do not enjoy or like, so I am pretty much set for that then.
I also talk about podcast creation on a budget and a few new additions to the tropical fish tank.
Here are the links for things.

Episode 43
This week I play Code Monkey by Jonathan Coulton. http://www.jonathancoulton.com . 'What?!?' I hear you say, (For I have very good ears), 'Why him again?' Welllll, I got good feedback, and two people said that they wanted to hear more of him. So there.

So, just to let you know, I badly named this month 'Kill itunes' month. What i really meant was 'Show the professional podcasters, (RTE.... You know who I am talking about...) that a teen can host a pro quality podcast. You want to do this by making sure that you are subscribed through iTunes, if you can. This would mean that I raise up the itunes charts. You can do this on my site, listed below.

This week, I learn how many of you there are out there, and it inspires me to wreck my bedroom (well, the look of it anyhoo) and make a little podcasting corner with mild soundproofing. Also, i take out the big guns, the fancy microphones and sound-boards. You should be happy. Really.

So. What do I talk about this week?
I do the mandatory 'What I have been up to' lecture, then get on to more interesting stuff.

I review some Science Fiction podcasts, and tell you why you should listen to them,
Here are all the relevant links.
scottsigler.podshow.com
strangerthings.tv
http://jchutchins.net http://www.escapepod.org/
and many more Sci-Fi (and other types) of podcast stories are available at www.podiobooks.com

I talk about strange spam I have received recently, (and get all poetic)

I lastly talk for a very short time about Best Buy, and how naughty they are.

You can contact me at talktome@stuffslashersaw.com
you can visit my site at www.stuffslashersaw.com
And remember: It's kill iTunes month!
