The end of a Podcast Era
Posted June 5th, 2007 by cian"We’re reaching the end of an era. The world of podcasting is maturing and changing, and I believe that we are hitting the end of that first, enthusiastic rush of people seeking to make their voices heard. Some might call it a Golden Age, but I’m not really sure that’s accurate. Gold Rush Age might be more apropos.
I believe that what we’re going to be seeing in the next 12-18 months is a fading of shows and personalities that helped start the podosphere. There’s no doom and gloom about this…it simply the way it goes."
Chris Miller's Blog
This is a sobering essay by Chris Miller on how podcasting is going to change a lot over the next few months. It is truly depressing, as well as sort of hopeful.
It comes as Evo Terra, podcasting pioneer, quits his work at Farpoint Media due to issues with how he was podcasting (or so I think). We love you Evo, and here is to hoping that you do something else amazing very soon.

New Survey!
Posted May 30th, 2007 by cianHi there everybody.
Just to let you know that we now have a new survey. And we want you to do it. Just once.
The last one went a bit wonky, when 2 people did it more then once, and it was really really long. Never good things.
This one consists of about 6 questions, and a free goody at the end.... When you complete it, you get a 'Secret' episode of VFTQ, which will never be on the feed. Go on. Treat yourself!

Radio Daddy Tells Podcasters to F off
Posted May 28th, 2007 by cianRadio Daddy sent out an email that said and I quote - "Unfortunatly with the ease of producing low quality podcasts and internet stations, children and the feable minded have become the majority operators of these. "
Wow - Both emails they sent today - the first one the quote comes from, and the second one when they try to back track are here.
Yes. They spell badly in an official company letter. Ouch.

Review of Spamalot - John Du Prez & Eric Idle
Posted May 15th, 2007 by cian The album Spamalot, taken from the theatrical performance of the same name, is comprised of songs inspired and composed by the people in the comedy group Monty Python.
We hear wondrous renditions of unforgettable songs such as Brave Sir Robin, Always Look on the Bright Side of Life and the unmistakable Knights of the Round Table.
The music in this album displays orchestral talent often extinct in other works of comedic music.
All types of tastes are catered for, with many genres in the one CD such as Ska, Jazz and Broadway music, as well as songs in the style of the romantic era.
Many of their songs directly parody songs which may often be heard on Broadway, with tenners who 'sing from the diaphragm a lot'.
Syncopated rhythms are in abundance with saxophones appearing in most songs at some point.
We can hear the rabid racism in this album, a topic which may upset some of my fellow class members. Such lyrics as “Finland Finland Finland” and
'Run away! Run Away!
From these horrible, nasty old Frenchies!' show the exact opinions the creators have about anybody who is not English.
In conclusion, I believe that this is a very good album, which will be celebrated for years on end.
