Hello, and welcome to this fine episode of View From The Quad, available at www.viewfromthequad.com!
I’m calling this episode of VFTQ the Spoiler Episode, so you have been warned. I also have a spoiler filled review of Toy Story Three, from VFTQ’s youngest ever guests! It’s all pretty awesome. And I must say, I know it’s not really new, but I totally love the latest VFTQ intro theme. I’m sitting on a three and a half minute version here that I might drop into the next episode if I remember. It’s awesome.

Today, VFTQ has an unknown time-limit. I must record all I can in the space of time it takes my visitors to visit their friend for about half an hour. So at some point, some story I am telling will get cut short. Exciting, eh?

VFTQ 189 – Dublin Pride Festival
This episode of View From The Quad should be downloaded at www.ViewFromTheQuad.com
Hi all! Firstly, thanks for all the wonderfull support throughout the Leaving Cert. Know that every email you sent me pushed me along a tiny tiny bit more. Let’s just hope it was enough!
Now, down to work. This episode of View From The Quad is a special event. I bring you, the Dublin Pride Festival 2010! Join me in the parade as I chat to a few flaming homosexuals (such as the wonderful Alan Costello), watch some prancing drag queens (such as Panti) and am utterly befubbled by some very VERY strange dance routines! This episode comes in a very long one, so sit back and enjoy, possibly in several sections.
Now, as I mentioned, a lot of the audio I recoreded (I would imagine well over half) was not usable, as there wasn’t really anything to hear other then loud thumpy music. However, on listening to my hellish attempts to describe what madness was going on before me, I have decided that I can not allow this stuff go to waste. Seriously, you will never hear me as confused again. So, I have uploaded all 130mb of it, the ENTIRE concert, and you can download it at the link below. Enjoy my commentary!
If you enjoy this episode of View From The Quad, please consider donating some money to your local GLBT support group. They deal with a lot of crap, and seriously need the support. This episode of View From The Quad is my little way of helping out some people I have gotten very friendly with over the years, and they do NOT deserve the crap that they have to deal with on a daily basis. But if you listen to View From The Quad, you already know my views on that.

VFTQ 185 – Mike Bennett takes over
VFTQ can, and should, be downloaded from ViewFromTheQuad.com, or the sheep gets it. And you know what THAT means!
Today, the most wonderful and talented Mike Bennett brings his own brand of horror to View From The Quad. The type that both makes you scream and laugh. (Don’t worry, he has a soundbyte as an example. It will all make sense.) You may know him from such wonderful novels as One Among The Sleepless and Underwood and Flinch, not to mention his short story collection, Hall of Mirrors, and his irregular audioblog, Sometimes. On this episode of View From The Quad, it would be a bit of a shame to spoil what he speaks of. But expect a wonderful reading of The Quest, by Saki.
“Mike Bennett grew up in London and Windsor and spent many years in Brighton where he wrote his first novel, ‘One Among the Sleepless.’ He published ‘One Among the Sleepless’ through his own company, Seed Publishing, in 2002.
He moved to Ireland where he podcast ‘One Among the Sleepless’ from 2006 – 2007, then his short story collection , ‘Hall of Mirrors’ from 2007 – 08.
He is currently writing his second novel, ‘Underwood and Flinch’ which he is also currently podcasting. He is married and lives in Ireland.”

Smallest Ever 4 Track Recording Studio
Note: this has now been removed from the VFTQ feed and the file has been moved to a slightly slower server. It might take a bit of buffering time.
So, as those of you who follow me on Twitter will know, I recently got ahold of a Zoom H4n. I promptly purchased a rather small bag, and have managed to fit everything required for an almost-four-track recording setup in it. (I say almost, because I couldn’t fit a second studio mic in the bag, but lets be honest. When will I ever need four microphones while out on the road?)
All in all, while I have not yet managed to give the Zoom H4n a full tryout yet, it seems to be pretty damn awesome. It’s true test will come in September, when I’m off to Dragon*Con.

VFTQ 184 – SirJolt takes over, makes fool of self [EXPLICIT]
This week on VFTQ, my good tweeter-friend, Marc McEntegart takes over, with a friend or two. This is what he emailed me:
“Since I’m the internet version of a gypsy, my most recently hosted blog has gone down (again), so I’ll leave you just with the Twitter account @SirJolt. Adam, the charming man who accompanied me for our tour on ViewFromTheQuad(Bike) can be found at @AtomCan. He’s a better man than me, though his updates be somewhat fewer.
The various different opening themes were put together on the spot by Adam and my younger brother, who you can find on Twitter as @Quadramind. He also played the bass in the actual intro.”
